Hardy Bullock, supervisor for Nevada County’s fifth district is a lifelong resident of Nevada County, and a graduate of Nevada Union High School and the University of Nevada Reno. Hardy holds accreditation from the American Association of Airport Executives and serves as a regional mentor to candidates in the executive accreditation program.

Hardy currently consults in the aviation/unmanned aerial systems and aeronautical planning fields for clients nationwide. Previously, he served as the Director of Aviation and Community Services for the Truckee Tahoe Airport District. He was tasked with the safety, security, and efficiency of this regional non-hub airport. Hardy has spent the last fifteen years finding creative solutions to problems facing commercial aviation. He is a multi-engine instrument-rated pilot with nearly 2,000 hours of flight time in various types of fixed-wing aircraft, gliders and jets.

Hardy has worked to promote the non-profit, community service sector by creating a non-profit warehouse space that provides food and family services, as well as organic food options, for the Truckee North Tahoe Region.

Hardy was also an appointed Planning Commissioner for Nevada County and the Town of Truckee. He served as an Airport Community Advisory Team member, and board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Hardy served as a member of the Community Advisory Council for the Nevada County Relief Fund, raising funds for small business assistance. Hardy was a Founding Member of the Truckee Trails Foundation as well as a triathlon coach and Boy Scouts leader. Hardy contributes to his community through multiple volunteer positions as well as the Rotary Club of Truckee.

Outside of work, Hardy spends time with his wife of 25 years and two college-age children. Hardy has a lifelong passion for the outdoors and spends most weekends in the backcountry, off the grid, exploring new places to climb, ride, and hike. Most recently Hardy created a regional bike race, The Heart of Gold Gravel, to support and promote teen mental wellness along with public and private support from statewide participants.
