GET INVOLVED WITH CATTPAC CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS & ENDORSEMENT PROCESS
Election Day for California and Nevada is Tuesday, November 6. The CATTPAC Board has selected these races to cover for candidate interviews and possible endorsements:
- Truckee Town Council
- Truckee Donner Public Utility District
- Tahoe City Public Utility District
- Truckee Donner Recreation & Park District
- Tahoe Truckee Airport District
The five races total 22 candidates. Individual interviews are being scheduled for the first three weeks of September. CATT members are welcome to suggest questions to ask of the candidates as well as participate in these interviews with CATTPAC board members. CATTPAC functions as your voice and wants your input!
CATTPAC endorsements are based upon several criteria, such as: the candidate is business friendly, has a balanced perspective, considers the big picture, etc. CATTPAC has an endorsement success rate of 80%.

CATTPAC CO-SPONSORS PUBLIC FORUMS OCTOBER 3 & 4
CATTPAC and TTCTC (Truckee Tahoe Community Television Corporation), in partnership with TTCTV-Channel 18 and the Sierra Sun and Moonshine Ink newspapers, will provide two evenings of candidate forums aimed at enhancing voter education and participation in the upcoming election.
The public forums are set for Wednesday, October 3 and Thursday, October 4, beginning at 6:00 PM. Location is the second floor of Truckee Town Hall, in the Council Chambers. The forums will be broadcast live on Suddenlink Channel 18. Additionally, TTCTV-Channel 18 will stream the video on their home page www.ttctv.org and air a series of re-runs of the forums.
The candidates will not only answer live audience questions but will also answer questions submitted in advance. Races featured on Wednesday night are: Truckee Town Council, Tahoe City Public Utility District, and Truckee Tahoe Airport District. Races featured on Thursday night are: Truckee Donner Public Utility District, Truckee Sanitary District, Truckee Donner Recreation & Park District, and TTUSD’s Measure AA. CATT members with questions for the candidates are encouraged to submit their questions to firstname.lastname@example.org Deadline for submittal is 24 hours before the forum.

WHAT IS CATTPAC?
CATTPAC is an acronym for the Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe Political Action Committee. CATTPAC is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization sponsored by the Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe. CATTPAC was created in 2002 to address the need for better representation of the construction industry in all levels of government. CATTPAC is a CA-registered Political Action Committee focused on candidates and ballot measures, FPPC # 1247901. CATTPAC is funded by CATT General Fund monies and member contributions.
CATTPAC Goals for 2018:
- Monitor and interview candidates for both the June and November elections
- Participate in and help plan the live TV candidate forums in the fall
- Research and take positions on ballot measures (CA and local)
- Add new board members
- Do better outreach to the public and CATT Members (tables at mixers and member orientations)
CATTPAC's MISSION is: The CATT Political Action Committee will raise funds and industry and public awareness in order to support political candidates, initiatives, measures, and campaigns that support the best interests of the building industry in our region.
