CATT members enjoyed an exciting afternoon at the 2nd annual Bocce Ball Tournament at the Truckee River Winery on September 6. Teams from Truckee-Tahoe Lumber Company, MOBO Law, LLP, Interior Wood Design, Inc., Hardwoods Specialty Products, Mountain Forge, Inc., Jones Corda Construction, Inc., Welling Construction, AMB, DEC, Inc., Western Nevada Supply, Aegis Insurance Markets, InMotion Heating & Plumbing, Inc, and Gallagher Construction gathered to compete for prizes and bragging rights.

Thank you to Mark Hanson, Interior Wood Design, Inc., for supplying 3 beautiful baskets for the raffle! The lucky winners were drawn: Laura Nelson with Mountain Forge, Inc., Jon Maitia from Truckee-Tahoe Lumber Company, and Kyr Leontovich from Truckee-Tahoe Lumber Company.

The twenty-five teams started rolling at 2 pm in a double elimination tournament that lasted until 9 in the evening! Teams selected interesting names for themselves such as Hammer Time, Ball Busters, Slow Motion, New Kids on the Bocce, Boiler Builders, Men Sporting Wood, Last Minute Lads, Bogan Babes, Bocce Factory, No Breaks, Blue Balls, Log Splitters, Das Balls, Gutter Girls, Mo Bowlers and The Big La Bocce.

The Iron Maidens, Suzanne Ruegg and Colleen Rulle from Mountain Forge, Inc. were undefeated as they entered the finals against Molly and Austin Brown of AMB DEC, Inc. who finished third. As the sun went down, Jim Nemeth and Thom Fralick of Gallagher Construction met the undefeated Iron Maidens, edging them out and forcing a tie-breaking final game. Congratulations to Gallagher Construction for the ultimate win!
