October was a busy month for the CATT office. We had events in South Lake Tahoe promoting CATT benefits and services, we happily welcomed our new Events Manager Britney Charme, we had our last Mixer of the year, and we set our 2020 Budget. At our October 4th board of directors meeting, we heard from Stacy Caldwell, Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation and Seana Doherty, Mountain Housing Council Project Coordinator on Mountain Housing Council (MHC) progress to date as the 3-year initiative comes close to completion, and ideas being considered for Phase 2. MHC has been charged with accelerating housing solutions in the North Tahoe-Truckee region and creating a regional action plan. Pat Davison was thanked for her time as a critical MHC tiger team partner over the past 2 ½ years.
On October 11th, I attended the Tahoe Prosperity Center’s Tahoe Economic Summit to learn more about progress with local priorities including housing and workforce development along with other regional and national economic issues impacting the local economy. We made time on October 23rd for CATT staff and board to share a dinner with the Nevada County Contractors Association (NCCA) staff and board. The agenda for this event was driven by an interest in learning more from each other about success with member benefits, member engagement, cross over with Political Action Committees, and workforce development initiatives. Association presidents Peter Greenberger, PacWest Construction & Development & Charlie Faber, C&D Contractors ran the dinner meeting agenda. NCCA, with its own building, has been a long-time model for CATT. We learned a tremendous amount from each other, and everyone enjoyed the interaction of dedicated staff and board members in the region working tirelessly to move the construction industry forward on various levels.
I hope to see you in December at our Annual Christmas Holiday Party.
My best, Kellie
