CATT members are reporting busier than ever schedules and workloads as we all continue to adapt to operating businesses with some unknowns connected to COVID. The recent California mask mandate further emphasizes the need for our jobsites to comply with COVID requirements to keep workers safe and projects moving forward. I received an email from Craig Griesbach, Nevada County Director of Building last week concerned that lack of physical distancing and masks on jobsites could have negative impacts on the construction industry as states respond to changing COVID statistics. I will continue to work with county staff to relay information to our members as quickly as possible relating to new requirements, as well as, required response if someone in your company tests positive for COVID.
The need for advocacy in this industry is now more than ever and I am pleased to announce expanded advocacy efforts in the Tahoe region with the hiring of South Shore Government Affairs Manager, Natalie Yanish. The Jobs to Bid program is in high demand with local homeowners submitting jobs daily to our membership – another great benefit for our members trying to grow their businesses. Producing our annual networking events has been tricky with COVID restrictions; however, I am happy to report that our outdoor venues are excited to get our members on the course and we are moving forward with a later in the year event schedule starting in August. Registration is now open for our 8/1 Sporting Clays Event and 9/2 Golf Tournament. The CATT office is open to our members and staff will continue to help members navigate challenges, educate, connect and provide jobs through homeowner referral.
Feel free to contact me directly.
My best,
