Raley’s Officially Breaks Ground on New Location in Truckee
In partnership with JMA Ventures, Raley’s broke ground at their new store near the Truckee Airport
On June 5th, more than 150 people joined Raley’s as the company officially broke ground on their new grocery store in Truckee, CA. The new store represents an important addition for Raley’s strategic growth plan.
The store was designed to deliver on Raley’s vision of infusing life with health and happiness. It will feature an extensive assortment of fresh, healthy and high-quality food, including natural and organic offerings as well as a great in-store casual dining experience.
“We designed this store to reflect the mountain heritage, while providing a modern shopping experience,” said Keith Knopf, Raley’s President & CEO. “We took extra time to ensure the local community was represented. This store will be a destination to gather and enjoy great food.”
The store decor will reflect architectural style that celebrates the High Sierra lifestyle with a modern, inviting presentation. Raley’s commissioned Mountain Forge, Inc. to design a one-of-a-kind metal, hand- forged art sculpture. The table in the café will be made by a tree removed from the site and created by Raley’s cabinet shop. Other wood from the property will be locally milled and re-purposed for an A-frame gable and decorative wall cladding.
The store is part of a larger development, Soaring Ranch, in partnership with JMA Ventures LLC. The new store will offer customers a modern shopping experience that will be a destination for community gathering and food for Truckee and the nearby communities. Other confirmed tenants include Truckee business, Mountain Hardware and Sports, Inc.
“We are excited about our partnership with Raley’s and the groundbreaking of Soaring Ranch” said Art Chapman, Chair and a founder of JMA Ventures. “Our investment reflects our confidence in and commitment to the Town of Truckee and the North Lake Tahoe region”.
Additional project designs include a mezzanine, referred to as “McKinney Loft,” paying tribute to local hall of fame ski legend, Steve McKinney. The loft will offer comfortable seating overlooking the store and include a wine and beer bar. The store will have plenty of outdoor seating area, including three fireplaces.
The first phase of the Soaring Ranch development will be completed in mid-2020.
Kelly Brothers ‘Paint It Forward’ program announces recipient
Sierra Sun, June 14, 2019
Kelly Brothers Painting, Inc has announced its 2019 Truckee/Tahoe “Paint It Forward” recipient as The Family Resource Center of Truckee.
The Kelly Brothers Painting’s crew of volunteer professional painters will be at the Family Resource Center of Truckee located at 11695 Donner Pass Rd, Truckee today.

This is the third annual “Paint It Forward” charity giveaway sponsored by Kelly Brothers Painting, Inc, a local Truckee and northern Nevada painting company. Each year, Kelly Brothers Painting campaigns to the local community, requesting nominations of a family or nonprofit organization that is in need of painting services, but that can’t afford it. Recipients are then selected for each of the Truckee/Tahoe and Reno area and will receive up to $10,000 worth of free painting services. This year, a record response of over 100 deserving entries from the community were received.
After careful review, the Family Resource Center was selected as the 2019 Truckee/Tahoe recipient.
“The Kelly Family feels fortunate to have the opportunity to give back to their community by offering their painting services,” Kevin Kelly, owner of Kelly Brothers Painting said in a news release. “Our Paint It Forward program allows the company to work together to make a difference collectively. We believe our employees and the recipients equally benefit from the program.
“Overall, it’s a special day for everyone involved, and we are happy Kelly Brothers Painting can be a part of it!”
