Happy New Year! I am excited and honored to be your incoming 2020 board President. 2019 was a strong year for CATT, and we look to move into the new decade with continued growth and prosperity!
First off, I would like to thank all of our new and longstanding members for making the previous year so successful. We finished 2019 with 413 members, which is the largest member base in CATT’s 21 year history! Many thanks to our Membership Manager Peg Friesen for her tireless work to bring all of our great companies together. We finished the year with our most successful Christmas Holiday Party event on record as well. This was a great way to finish the year and to welcome our newest CATT staff member; Events Manager Britney Charme. We experienced growth and success in so many other areas, including huge advocacy wins, all led by our great staff of Kellie, Pat, Val, Peg, & Britney, our 2019 board of directors, our dedicated committee members, and all of our countless volunteers and donors. Thank you all for your amazing contributions. Lastly, I would like to personally thank outgoing board President Peter Greenberger for his inspirational leadership and hard work this past year.
CATT transitions into 2020 with many exciting opportunities and challenges. The CATT board has approved the continued exploration of the expansion into South Lake Tahoe. Our colleagues in South Lake Tahoe are greatly unrepresented in local government affairs. This creates the opportunity for CATT to provide advocacy services to a growing membership that will truly represent the entirety of the Lake Tahoe basin. This year brings many other unique advocacy challenges as well, with new energy codes, general plan updates, and many more important issues. We have opportunities for major organizational wins through the continued support of all of our amazing membership volunteers.
I look forward to connecting with all of you through our many fun events and mixers. Thank you in advance for all of your continued support. It is because of each and every one of you that we continue to grow this great organization.
Regards,
Chris Tennant
