The CATT Community Project

The CATT Community Project is a 501(c)3 corporation dedicated to the improvement of our community through utilizing the resources of our industry.   Our inaugural project was theMcIver Dairy Renovation shown below.

The CATT CP allows donations from the general public to be used in the beautifying of our community. For the 2004 building season, CATT Community Projects is considering a dedication of support for the construction of people shelters at Truckee bus stops.

Mission Statement
To be a conduit for funds, materials, volunteerism and project coordination towards the restoration or construction of selected structures that are deemed beneficial to the community.

Project Criteria
Property must be on government, agency or nonprofit association property to receive donations. Or
Projects on private party property must be sponsored by an additional nonprofit association and will be more volunteer-based than donation-based in scope.
Project owners must demonstrate the lack of ability, knowledge or funding to complete the project without some form of assistance.
Work projects must be able to be completed in 2 days.

Project Classifications
Funded Project – This style of project is more technical in nature and requires specialized construction needs that are not conducive to a work project style. In this type of project, CATT CP would primarily coordinate the scope of work, secure funds and materials and bid to CATT contractors to perform at a community benefit rate.
Work Project – This style is similar to the Dairy Project where CATT CP organizes a volunteer day to do light construction, painting, clean up etc.
Many projects will be a combination of both classifications.

Public Relations
CATT CP will promote the organization and contributors for maximum exposure. CATT CP is the community benefit arm of the Contractors Association or Truckee Tahoe, which requires public relations to be effective in its mission to enhance the community and building industry.
